Chief Val Demings Wins Democratic Nomination for U.S. Senate
ORLANDO — Tonight, former Orlando Police Chief and candidate for the U.S. Senate Congresswoman Val Demings officially won the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate and will face Marco Rubio in November.
Chief Demings joined family, friends, and supporters in Orlando for a celebration, where she delivered a victory speech highlighting her American Dream story and promised to fight for all Floridians in the U.S. Senate.
“I stand before you tonight believing in the promise of America, because I have seen the promise of America,” said Chief Demings in her victory speech. “My mother and my father, a maid and a janitor, believed in this moment, in the power, in the greatness of this country. I really do believe that together, we can do anything and everything. And with your help, come November 8th, I will be elected the next United States Senator to represent the great state, my home state, your home state, of Florida.”< Back to all News
