Chief Val Demings Hosts Hispanic Women Small Business Roundtable in Doral
DORAL — Today, former Orlando Police Chief and candidate for the U.S. Senate Congresswoman Val Demings joined local Hispanic women small business owners for a roundtable discussion kicking off her three day affordability tour of South Florida. During the roundtable, Chief Demings discussed the struggles small business owners have faced during the pandemic and highlighted the need to bring down costs to support small businesses.
“Floridians have been devastated by the pandemic and rising costs that have made it hard for small businesses to get by,” said Chief Demings. “Small businesses have long been cornerstones of our communities and represent the American Dream that we all hope to achieve, and I’ll work tirelessly in the United States Senate to ensure they have the resources they need to thrive.”
“We are grateful that Chief Demings spoke with us about the toll that rising costs have taken on small business owners in South Florida,” said Venusmia Fernandez Lovely, South Florida small business owner. “Congresswoman Demings has supported small business owners throughout her career, providing pandemic relief and fighting for common sense reforms to help us thrive. She understands the hurdles that women from minority communities face when it comes to running a business, and we know she will have our backs in the U.S. Senate.”
