Val Demings Stands for Reproductive Rights, Blasts Anti-Choice Extremists
ORLANDO — Today, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case with important implications for abortion and reproductive rights.
Ahead of today’s oral arguments, former Orlando Police Chief Val Demings, candidate for United States Senate, released the following statement:
“I will always stand up and fight back against assaults on reproductive rights. We can’t let extreme politicians overrule the vast majority of Floridians who agree that abortion is health care and that the right to choose is settled law.
“In Congress, I’ve helped pass legislation that protected a woman’s right to choose in federal law. But that effort is stalled in the Senate because of anti-choice extremists and their enablers like Marco Rubio. Floridians deserve an end to the constant litigation and politicization of our fundamental right to control our own bodies, and that’s why I’ll fight hard in the Senate to ensure that Roe v. Wade remains the law of the land.”< Back to all News
